Based on formal Board action, a new venue will be implemented to further encourage the Vision and Mission of NSC. The one-day symposium will provide a venue for critical reflection on Navajo Studies for Navajo scholars, teachers, practitioners, officials, and students. The symposium will continue the tradition of presenting and deliberating on Navajo studies in different areas of inquiry such as language, culture, education, business, management, philosophy, and government.
About every 4 years, a full 3-day Navajo Studies Conference will be implemented as has been done in the past. In between the conferences, one-day symposiums for each year will be held across the Navajo Nation. The conferences will continue to highlight research and studies about Navajo in areas of language, culture, education, business, management, philosophy, and government.
NSC Board is planning the following 5-year schedule of symposiums and conferences. Changes are anticipated depending on resources and other factors. This is ONLY a tentative schedule.
